We will discuss unemployability from the perspective of young people.
We, the young people, are the ones responsible for the future of the labor market and work spaces. This correlates with us currently becoming one of the high risk groups when it comes to the global problem of unemployment. Young people, who are about to enter labor market, are often challenged by the fact that their skills and experience are not enough to meet market demands. This leads them onto the path of taking a job that does not match their interests or, in worst case scenario, staying long-term unemployed before ever having had the chance of entering the job market.
As a result of this we aim to promote innovative social enterprises and a different way of training youth workers to build up an entrepreneurial and creative attitude towards market challenges.
But firstly we need skills to be able to give the youth tools for using entrepreneurship in the creation of their own workplaces. We will seek to understand the attitudes towards youth unemployment through youngsters and youth workers from all over Europe. This also in an effort to find efficient ways of beating the unemployment rate which is rising in many countries. Finally, we also strive to investigate how entrepreneurship can be channeled into positive changes in EU as a whole.
All this is why we are 28 participants gathered from seven completely different countries - and the excitement sneaks up on me!
